Should I speak about Sean Clark in the third person on not? That is the question. Let’s go first person so as not to confuse anyone.
I am Sean Clark. Iowa born and raised. I met the love of my life as a freshman at Manning High School in Manning, Iowa. Robin has given me 4 wonderful and beautiful children and nearly 20 years of marriage that has been a treasure. Without marrying Robin, I may have never converted to the Roman Catholic faith, as well. For that, I’m most thankful.
Born and raised in small town Manning, Iowa, I’m a unapologetic Iowa State Cylcone and Iowa Hawkey fan, except when they play each other (sorry Hawk fans!). I think Iowa is one of nicest places on Earth. If you don’t believe me, come visit and if you can, ride RAGBRAI. Robin and I graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa. Go Dutch! But alas, we are all now Iowa expatriates living in Bloomington, Illinois.
Work Life: I work for Microsoft as a Cloud Solution Arhitect, specializeding in helping customers navigate how to transform their businesses to use Microsoft Azure, our cloud computing platform. Previous to making a jump to the “New Microsoft”, I spent a decade in the datacenter virtualization space working as virtualization engineer, IT manager, solution architect, consultant, and principle architect on multiple private cloud projects. Started work life as a programmer in a dead language (IDML on a VMS environment), open source web developer and small business network admin.
Passions: I coach track and field and recently earned my USATF Level I certification. I’m a serial coach for my kids’ sport when a coach or help is needed (I’ve done baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, track and chess). I’m also an accomplished brewer and proud of my Trappist inspired ales.
Faith: I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. I started my faith journey as a Lutheran, but converted to Roman Catholicism in 2004 shortly after my first son was born. If you’re curious why, please just ask.
